Management of the Scholarship Fund

In July 2009, the AVU Scholarship Board was established comprising one member of the AVU Board of Directors’, the AVU Rector and two AVU Staff.  This Board consults physically or virtually to deliberate on scholarship proposals submitted by the AVU Management and on other issues related to the management of the fund.  The Scholarship Board reports directly to the AVU Board of Directors and the scope of work includes:

  • Supervision of the scholarship fund in partnership with the Partner Institutions and Ministries of Education when necessary
  • Ensuring the terms of the management of the fund are followed
  • Ensuring the fund is annually audited
  • Undertaking fundraising to attract additional funding

 

In addition, a scholarship Fund Manager was nominated by the AVU Rector in July 2009, to carry out the day to day activities related to the Scholarship Fund.
The Scholarship Fund will be audited annually by an international Audit firm.
