Scholarship to learners registered in Partner Institutions.

  • Subject to the availability of funds, the AVU communicates the availability of funds to the partner institutions.
  • Official application forms are provided to the Partner Institutions by the AVU for applicants to complete. Download Download PDF (122KB) or Download fill Online Form
  • The completed forms must be endorsed by the Head of the Partner Institution
  • The responsibility of submitting the completed applications to the AVU is vested on the Head of the Partner Institution or any other person nominated by the Head of the Partner Institution
  • The Scholarship applications are forwarded to the AVU and processed for evaluation by the Scholarship Board.
  • The AVU Scholarship Committee meets, deliberates and makes recommendations to AVU Scholarship Board. The applications may:
     - Be approved.
     - Be approved pending missing information
     - Be put on hold requiring more information to be able to make a decision.
     - Be rejected


Disbursement

On completion of selection:

  • The AVU writes to the successful applicants and to their respective Institutions to inform them of the scholarship awards.
  • The award scholarships are disbursed to the Partner Institution and not to the individual student.
  • The AVU makes the necessary arrangements with the Partner Institution for the candidate to access programs


Accountability

The Partner Institution reports on the performance of the recipients according to a schedule specified by the AVU according

  • After completion of each module/term/semester for a certificate program
  • After completion of each 6 months of study for a Diploma program
  • After completion of each year of study for a Bachelor’s Program.
