The African Virtual University (AVU) Multinational Support Project

"I have noted with appreciation, that AVU has a program tailored to encourage more female students and other disadvantaged groups to enroll in science-based education programs by providing scholarships to them," Says Fenny Mwakisha, a deputy director, in Kenya's higher education ministry.

The AVU project is designed to promote the use of ICT in order to increase access to tertiary education and training; and promote female access to science-based teacher education courses.
