I. Overall Objectives of the Consortium Program
- Improve the quality of teaching and learning in Chemisty through the use of ICTs
- Increase the number of Chemisty and Basic Computer Science teachers by expanding access to training through the use of Open, Distance and eLearning
- Develop and promote research in teacher education in order to encouraging evidence-based decision-making in all aspects of teacher development
- Promote regional integration and strengthen relevant partnerships with other teacher education initiatives in Africa and globally
- Contribute to the Millennium Development Goals
II. Who can take this program?
- Pre-service teachers for secondary schools
- Unqualified secondary schools teachers, who earned a Bachelor Degree in Chemistry, but who do not have qualification in pedagogy and other Teacher Education professional courses
III. Mode of Delivery
- Mixed mode: online and face-to-face through the Open and Distance eLearning Center in Partner institutions
- Face-to-face or using in Partner Institutions
