3rd AVU eLearning Day Celebrated at the eLearning Africa 2011 Conference in Tanzania, May 26th 2011

The African Virtual University (AVU) successfully conducted a Webinar session at the eLearning Africa 2011 Conference www.elearning-africa.com as part of its 3rd eLearning Day. This was a pioneering event that attracted delegates at the conference as well as a global audience that participated online.

The Webinar was themed "Developing and Using OERs in Africa: Lessons Learned from the African Virtual University" and the main speakers were speakers Dr. Bakary Diallo from Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania; Ms Catherine Wangeci Thuo from Nairobi, Kenya and Dr Therrezinha Fernandes from Dakar, Senegal.

In addition, the AVU Rector, Dr. Bakary Diallo was a Keynote speaker in a number of sessions, including the closing plenary.

The AVU also had a booth at the exhibition area that received high levels of interest from the conference participants.
