The African Virtual University (AVU) was represented by its Rector, Dr. Bakary Diallo at the 6SCWC (6th Science Centre World Congress) in Cape Town, South Africa that took place from 4th – 8th September 2011.
Dr. Diallo was at the 6SCWC to speak about the Open Educational Resources (OER) that the AVU has developed in partnership with 12 institutions from 10 African countries in Math, Chemistry, Physics and Biology as well as Teacher Education Professional Courses that are now being used for teacher training throughout Africa and are available across the world. He was also there to share the AVU's experiences in using social media to promote all of their programs and activities.
