The ICT Basic Skills and ICT Integration in Education for Mathematics and Sciences are programs of the African Virtual University (AVU) delivered in Senegal, in collaboration with the Faculty of Education and Technical Sciences Training (FASTEF) at the University of Cheikh Anta Diop in Dakar.

 

Graduation Ceremony 'Certificates in ICT Basic Skills and ICT Integration in Education for Mathematics and Sciences'

The programs target both pre-service and in-service teachers with the aim of developing their capacity to effectively and appropriately use ICTs teaching their respective courses, in Mathematics and Sciences (Biology, Physics and Chemistry). From August 2010 to May 2011, the programs were delivered to 4 cohorts of students at FASTEF and the 5th cohort is currently ongoing.

A graduation ceremony was held on Saturday 24th September, 2011 at FASTEF, to hand over certificates (77 certificates in ICT Basic Skills and 58 certificates in ICT Integration in Education for Mathematics and Sciences) to the first 3 cohorts of students registered in the AVU programs, who had successfully completed the programs.


The ceremony was attended by fifty graduants. Various speeches were made that pointed out to the importance and relevance of ICT training in this era. A cocktail in honor of the graduates and the team who had worked hard for the success of the programs concluded the ceremony.
