The AVU was invited by the Bureau Régional de l'UNESCO pour l'Education en Afrique (UNESCO-BREDA) to take part in the second Teacher Training Initiative for Sub-Saharan Africa (TTISSA) Coordination Committee Meeting and also to the Pan African Conference On Teacher Education and Development (PACTED)), in Lomé, Togo from April 11th to April 15th, 2011.

The first meeting coincided with a two day TTISSA capacity building workshop and was an opportunity for the various stakeholders acting in the area of Teacher Education to meet.
