The AVU uses a blended mode of course delivery: totally online synchronous and asynchronous, or mixed mode online with complementary face-to-face, self or formal learning course.  In all cases, the delivery of the courses may be supported by CDs, DVDs, USB keys or printed material. In the case of formal courses, an instructor will be in charge and may be supported by tutors. The mode of delivery for each program will be determined during the conceptualization and design stages.

Assessment

The assessment of the courses may be done online or face-to-face, or a combination of online and face-to-face. For instance, a self learning course may be assessed online whereas a formal accredited course may require sitting exams. The mode of assessment of each program is determined by its quality assurance requirements.

Cost of programs

When appropriate, reasonable student course registration fees will be charged to help cover some of the costs of delivering VCDP programs, courses and webinars. Students’ fees may also be paid through Scholarship Funds
