Dr Bakary Diallo, rector at the African Virtual University, attended The Open Education Global Conference from April 12th to April 14th at AGH University of Science and Technology, in Kraków, Poland.
The Open Education Global Conference, organized by the Open Education Consortium, is the annual opportunity for researchers, practitioners, policy makers and educators to deeply explore open education and its impact on global education. Conference participants engage with thought leaders in open education and have the opportunity to share ideas, practices and discuss issues important to the future of education worldwide. The Open Education Global Conference is the largest conference devoted exclusively to open education, attracting participants from more than 30 countries around the world.
Dr. Diallo is a member and treasurer of the Open Education Consortium Board. He attended the annual meeting that was organized in conjunction with the Open Education Global Conference.
AVU has been a sustaining member of Open Education Consortium for the last 5 years. AVU won 3 international prizes for its OERs through the Open Education Consortium in 2011, 2012, and 2013.
