We are pleased to formally inform you of an exciting development for AVU. We are presently in the process of rebranding, and you will become familiar with the refreshed AVU brand in the coming months. New documents were printed: folders, brochures, and business cards. In the coming months we will launch a new website and redesign our existing portals for OERs.
The new identity had to satisfy all of the existing expectations of what AVU stands for: increase access to higher quality in education and training through innovative use of ICTs while moving forward to become the leader in e-learning development in Africa and beyond. Our new tagline is a summary of our mission: Learning Beyond Barriers.

The current logo has a map of Africa represented by dots. The dots are kept in the new logo in order to draw the outline of Africa. This way, the logo is still recognizable by AVU partners and stakeholders.
The power button represents Information, Communication, and Technology, which are crucial components of the AVU (Open, Distance, and eLearning) ODeL strategy. The lines in the logo represent:
