Overall Objectives

Participants will acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to:

  1. Express an understanding of, and successfully complete the roles and responsibilities of specialist as outlined in the institutional project of their respective Open, Distance and eLearning team.
  2. Develop a plan for Open, Distance and eLearning within their specialist stream (Governance, Technology Development, and Instructional Design).
  3. Develop strategies to appropriately respond to the external and internal constraints of the institutional context and the needs of the Open, Distance and eLearning client/user.
  4. Make real and ongoing contributions to a community of practice in Open Distance and eLearning.

Who can take this program?

This program is designed to enhance the capacity of institutions to design, develop and deliver open, distance and eLearning course.  It has been delivered to staff members working as a team to design and implement institutional distance and eLearning projects. There are 3 mean streams: Governance, Technology Development, and Instructional Design

Mode of Delivery

This program is designed to be delivered in 3 phases using a blended mode (face-to-face and online):

  1. Initial Workshop
  2. Online Delivery
  3. Concluding Workshop
