I. Overall Objectives

At the end of the workshop participants will be able to:

  1. Have a clear understanding of use of ICTs in education for policy, planning and decision making.
  2. Be able to understand how ICTs can contribute to increase access to education, for residential programs and through distance learning
  3. Get a clear understanding of the delivery of online programs and courses, learning management systems, assessment, student support and quality assurance
  4. Identify resources required to set up eLearning programs and courses: infrastructure,  content, human resources, financial resources
  5. Understand the challenges of implementation Distance and eLearning in the African context

II. Who can take this program?

This program is designed to enhance appreciation of the role of elearning in expanding access to education opportunities. Ideal participants include:

  • Education Leaders and Administrators:  Chancellors, Vice Chancellors, Deputy Vice Chancellors, Deans, Principals, Heads of Department etc
  • Governments, International Organizations, Private Sector: Decision makers and Administrators

This workshop is designed to be delivered using face-to-face delivery mode

ELE 104 Resources for Distance and eLearning

  • 8 hours (one day) four all 4 modules
  • 4 hours (half a day) for 2 selected modules
