Tom O. Ojwang’

Tom joined the African Virtual University in November 2013 as Program Officer, Research & Development.

He is a Ford Foundation International Fellowships Program (IFP) alumnus and holds a Master of Arts degree in Educational Policy and Administration with a specialization in Comparative and International Development Education (CIDE) track from the University of Minnesota, USA. Tom also has a Bachelor of Education degree (French/History) from Kenyatta University, Kenya.

Prior to joining the AVU, Tom worked as a part–time instructor at the University of Nairobi’s College of Education and External Studies. He has also worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Minnesota and has experience spanning several years as a high school teacher of History and French language and an assessor of French oral examination for the Kenya National Examinations Council.

Tom is a Kenyan national and speaks English, French and Kiswahili.
